Condition: Ocular Albinism

1. What is your profession and why did you decide to choose this field?

I am a social entrepreneur, disability activist, and founder of The Valuable 500. The job chose me, I didn't choose the job. I wanted to be part of solving the global inequality crisis facing 1.3 billion people with disabilities in a creative way. I knew this was what I wanted to do when I finally came out of the disability closet at 28 years old.

2. What is the most rewarding thing about what you do?

The teams, people, and creative talent that I get to work with and doing something which everyone said was impossible.

3. What is your advice to all the other VIPs around the world who don’t believe they can be successful in the area of their interest because of their disability?

Not one thing defines any of us. We are so much more than our disabilities. The only advice I can ever give is to listen to your gut instinct and follow it relentlessly, even through pain and disappointment. The best stuff that ever happened to me came out of failure and loss.
